Thrilled to have you visiting the GuitaM store! I am an avid adventurer, a seasoned traveler, always in search of exceptional gems for crafting new and exciting pieces. While my design philosophy favors simplicity and elegance, the world of jewelry offers me infinite creative possibilities to be daring with my pieces. Before deciding on the path to designing jewelry, I worked for many years in the fashion and beauty industries, which gave me the opportunity to learn about quality, craftsmanship and mostly importantly creativity. But designing jewelry has been a passion for a long time, and it took a few years to learn the art of model making, casting and navigating the labyrinths of this fascinating business before sharing this passion with friends and family and, finally, the public. I have been creating unique collections and one-of-a kind pieces in New York since 2007 and I am working closely with local artisans to realize my designs and turn them into impeccable pieces of jewelry. From the onset, my collection has been using the colors offered by gems and the possibilities of creating pieces from a wide variety of stones. I am always focused on designing with materials that are unique and my works are a mix of statement pieces, fun jewels and unusual gemstones, all indicative of who I am: an adventurer and explorer. Design and color is one way for me to distinguish myself from the classic world of diamonds and emeralds and…don’t get me wrong…I love them all, but I feel that my day to day pieces should be fun, well designed, versatile and, most importantly, well made. Quality is most important to me. A lot of my designs are playful pieces that look good with a pair of jeans or a ball gown. The pieces are meant to make a statement, draw compliments and to have fun with. They are however serious in that they are fabricated in the traditional artisanal way by using 18kt gold, platinum and high-quality precious and semi-gems. I rely mostly on the quality, color and unique cuts of stones for my pieces. Most of my raw stones are sent to Idar Oberstein in Germany for re-cutting and shaping. Once I see a stone I like, the design forms in my head. I then take it to my artisans and fabricators here in NYC to discuss the possible ways to bring it to my design. We sketch and produce the CADS and slowly, slowly bring pieces to life. I really enjoy the creative process. All of my pieces are made right here in NYC since this is the city where I live and work. I guess in a way I am giving back to the city which has given me so much through the years. Here I have access to very talented artisans, casters, stone setters and polishers on daily basis. This enables me to be on top the entire process, supervise last minute modifications and finish a pieces with my 100% participation. (more)lg... (more)
