Melis Goral, an Istanbulite and a third generation jeweler, aspires to create pieces which derive from her imagination and heritage; sourcing inspiration from a variety of influences such as art, architecture, cultures, travel and ruminations. After earning her jewelry design degree from the Istituto Europeo Di Design in Milan, Melis returned to Istanbul to establish her namesake brand. The label’s design aesthetic is founded on the featuresof the Art Deco movement, possessing a poetic sensitivity refined with geometric rigor. Her designs are adorned with radiant colored stones, striking polished gemstones and opaque enameled details, in contrast against an assortment of cut diamonds set in white or rose gold. Her singularity lies in her ability to create abstract yet eloquent compositions by infusing linear, engineered and streamlined forms. She works closely and exclusively with a select group of goldsmiths and craftsmen from Istanbul’s historic Grand Bazaar, who bring in their legacy and rooted knowledge to her contemporary and refined understanding of the art of jewelry.
